Disneyland 2010!

We enjoyed the most wonderful week with Jessie, Marty & Graham! We had a PERFECT day at Disneyland! Seriously! Not too hot or cold-Not too crowded-and all of the kids were angels! It was a super fun day! Thanks Patch family for making the trek to visit us! We love you guys!

Over President's Day weekend we enjoyed a fun-filled ski holiday with a bunch ( 5 families) of our friends! We had an absolute blast! Unfortunately for Ava, she didn't make the cut! She stayed home with our fabulous babysitters! She had a blast too! Thank you to the Gredings for hosting such a perfect weekend!

So, today I turned 35 years old! Wow! As much as I hate getting older, I know I have SO much to be grateful for! I have a blessed life...a husband who adores me (most of the time :) and three great kids who I adore (most of the time!) I am so grateful!

Happy Birthday to a wonderful husband and dad! We had such a fun weekend at Mandalay Bay celebrating Chris' b-day! It was so fun to have my mom & dad visiting to help us celebrate, and Chris' family was there to get the party started! :) Yeah!!!

Ava girl turned 2! What a fun day! She had a great birthday! A party at Build-a-Bear workshop with cousins and friends, and yummy cake and fun gifts! Such a lucky girl! We love you Ava! You are so darling inside and out!

Hawaii 2009

Well, we had a great time in Hawaii for spring break! The weather was beautiful and the resort was amazing. Noah and Nick swam, snorkled, and played non-stop. We did have a bump in the road when Nick fell on the USS Missouri battleship in Pearl Harbor. He fell 8ft. directly on his head! Yikes! He suffered a concussion and spent a few hours in the ER. Not fun for anyone! Despite this incident we still had a great time! Chris & I enjoyed this relaxing break with the boys. They are the perfect age! I want to freeze them right now! We all missed our little Ava so much, but we knew she was in the very capable hands of Aunt Suzy and Aunt Jessie! All in all it was the perfect vacation, minus the trip to the Emergency Room!!!

Mr. Nick's Oratorical Debut

Nick won his class oratorical presentation by reciting "My Hippo Has The Hiccups" by Kenn Nesbitt. So...today he had to participate in the showcase assembly for all the winners from each class up to third grade! He did GREAT! We are so proud of him. Did I mention he was the youngest student to participate and by the way the cutest for sure! :) I will say this, he was a little more nervous when he realized how packed the room was! Every student from Jr.K -3rd grade plus parents and teachers were there. He had to go up on stage and introduce himself and his poem and THEN recite it! I would have been so nervous, but he handled it! Way to go buddy!

Happy Valentine's Day 2009!

We decided on a whim to take the kids down to Santa Monica Pier. The boys absolutely love it there! For those of you unfamiliar, it is like an old-fashioned carnival with games, a Ferris wheel, and even a roller coaster, all perched on a pier above our beloved Pacific ocean. We had a blast! The weather was gorgeous! The boys did bumper cars and all of us did the carousel (However, Ava wasn't too psyched about the combo of large plastic ponies and spinning rapidly!) Oh well, we loved it! We left the pier and headed to Tito's Tacos for lunch! I told Chris this was such a fun Valentine's Day-I spent it with the people I love the most!

Six Quirks

My sister Jessie tagged me with "what are my six quirks"? I really think this is her way of forcing me to update my blog! :)

Okay...

#1- I always read a magazine from the last page to the first. I have no idea why, but my mom says she does the same thing.

#2-I can never leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight. It drives me crazy to wake up to a dirty kitchen!

#3-I HAVE to sleep with a fan going. I even bring a fan to the hospital when I have my babies.

#4-While I am falling asleep I rub my feet together in a circular motion! (No socks ever!) That sounds so weird, I know!

#5-I love, love, love reading cookbooks, yet I don't love to cook.

#6-I love maps! One year for Christmas, Chris bought me a huge atlas and I was sooo excited!

Mr. Nick

Mr. Nick-my witty & charming five year old. We are all so used to Nick saying funny things that I don't even think to write them down any more, but today... Nick made me really laugh! On the way home from school Nick told me that he used to have a girlfriend. I said, "WHAT!" you had a girlfriend!? Then to which he casually replied, "Mom, don't worry I totally dunked her!" I love it and I love him!

Our Cute Little Cub Scout

So... Noah started Cub Scouts. I knew he would most likely enjoy Scouts, but I was not prepared for the all out obsession with all things Scouting. He really can't believe his good fortune, to dress in his uniform (you know how Noah loves a good costume) and go hang out with his pals and make "stuff". Last week he made a book safe. For those of you unfamiliar, it involves cutting and destroying the inside pages of a large, hard-bound book, then gluing the remaining pages together to form a "secret" compartment. Oh, the smile on that kids face! Anyway, we are so excited that Noah is SO excited about Scouts!

Noah Turns 8

On Saturday, September 6th 2008, Noah celebrated his 8th birthday and was also Baptized! It was a super special day! Nana Jan & Papa Mark & Aunt Suzy flew down for the occasion. Chris' dad, Steve, who had a severe stroke 6 months ago, made his Chapel debut and was able to attend the Baptism as well. The whole gang then came over to the house for a fun backyard dinner/birthday party!

School's Out- YIKES!

School is officially out tomorrow. This is a very bitter/sweet day. I am so happy that my kids can relax and take a break from homework and early bedtimes, but I know that the oh- so- familiar "I'm bored" and "He hit me" comments are on their way! Thank goodness for an afternoon summer camp program!

I can't believe Ava is turning one in 11 days! Where has this year gone? She is such a little doll baby and her personality is emerging more and more each day. Noah and Nick can't keep their hands off of her! Annoying for her and me, to be honest.

This is my first post and I know at least one person is excited about it! Thanks Jess! Anyway, I have to confess something... I vacuum my baby! Well, not exactly vacuum, but when she is in her highchair and the crumbs from the Cheerios and graham crackers are too overwhelming, I pull out my handy little vac and suck up all those stray bits!

At first, I will admit, Ava was slightly terrified. But, the girl has really come around! Today she was really loving it! The giggles were almost louder than the whir of the vacuum.
